It was initially called Catholic Youngmen Association( CYMA) but in 2013,the Archbishop of Lagos, Most Rev. Dr. Alfred Adewale Martins, changed the name to Catholic Brothers United(CBU) and mandated that it should spread to all Parishes in the Archdiocese.
